Cluj-Napoca, Romania – June 4-5, 2025 – The HealthChain consortium recently met for its 6th General Assembly, a pivotal two-day meeting focused on reviewing project progress, addressing challenges, and outlining upcoming activities.
Guiding Insights from Our Advisory Board
A highlight of the Assembly was the introduction and invaluable input from the HealthChain’s Advisory Board, Prof. Nick Guldemond, and Ms. Marta Passadouro, who engaged directly with partners to discuss project results and future directions. Their key recommendations included:
- Prioritize Sustainability: Stressing the importance of interoperability, human capital, and financial sustainability in digital health integration.
- Innovation Focus: Emphasizing the need to remain focused on genuine, real-world healthcare needs, rather than merely “shiny objects” in technology.
- Investment Preparedness: Recognizing the critical need to address compliance and regulatory aspects early to attract investment.
- Foster Policy Influence: Encouraging regions to leverage project learnings to shape policy at national and EU levels.
Key Achievements & Progress Shared
The meeting celebrated significant milestones in boosting value chains across regions:
- Demand-Driven Solutions: 24 innovative solutions are being developed by 33 companies, directly addressing unmet clinical needs.
- Robust Mentoring Network: 27 dedicated mentors are fostering growth and knowledge exchange among partners.
- Strong Regional Participation: 13 new Mirror Regions have actively joined the Community of Practice (COP), a driving interregional collaboration.
- Enhanced Investment Readiness: Solutions are progressing in Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) and Business Readiness Levels (BRL) through dedicated testing environments and support mechanisms.
