Last week, the HealthChain I3 consortium convened for its 3rd General Assembly Meeting in Coimbra, hosted in Instituto Pedro Nunes. Director Antonio Lindo de Cunha kicked off the event, emphasizing IPN’s role in connecting universities and companies for innovation.
Two intensive work days during the 12th and 13th of December have resulted in insightful discussions.
The meeting featured detailed discussions on various work packages, including monitoring, communication strategies, and the delivery of business support, all with a focus on interregional collaboration, innovation, and investment.
Importantly, each region presented the two healthcare challenges they selected through the unmet need identification process. These challenges will be addressed by the SMEs awarded through the Expression of Interest for Leading SME. Furthermore, presentations from regions Murcia (Spain), Centro (Portugal), West (Slovenia), Primorsko-Goranska (Croatia), and East Netherlands showcased ongoing healthcare challenges and innovations developed since the project inception.
Looking ahead, the consortium outlined plans for EOI leading SMEs, FSTP calls, business support, and specific tasks, including a business model workshop, strategic planning, and a pitch day to present solutions. Mirror regions were identified, and signatures for approval and support were planned for the upcoming weeks.
