The board members offer extensive knowledge in healthcare, including digital health and innovation, and bring diverse perspectives from their backgrounds in academia, industry, and regional development.
Nick Guldemond is a professor of healthcare and public health at Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands, Gdansk Medical University in Poland, Tsinghua University in China and hold degrees in medicine and electric engineering with a PhD from Maastricht University. He is known for his work in advancing the use of technology, particularly digital and data-driven solutions, in healthcare to improve patient care, population health and healthcare systems. Professor Guldemond serves as an advisor to numerous governments, the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Commission and industries worldwide.
Marta Passadouro holds a PhD in Biochemical Technology from the University of Coimbra. With nearly 8 years of experience as a molecular biology researcher and over 10 years in healthcare innovation, she has collaborated closely with industry, startups, incubators, and hospitals. Currently serving as the EIT Health Innostars Ecosystem Lead Portugal, Marta coordinates the national ecosystem of EIT Health partners, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the competitiveness of this innovative community, positioning them at the forefront of strategic European initiatives and facilitating the internationalization of healthcare projects in European markets.
Tjaša Zajc is an international digital health expert, host of the renowned Faces of Digital Health podcast. After a 10 year career as a healthcare journalist she transitioned to the healthcare IT sector, where she worked as a business development specialist for 7 years. Brainlab put her on the list of 9 Digital Health Experts to Follow on LinkedIn in 2021, Health Tech listed her among 30 Healthcare IT Influencers Worth a Follow in 2021. She is the author of two documentaries – Hopes and hypes around digital health (2016) and (OVER)DOSE – How can we prevent medication errors? (2021). She regularly works with digital health conferences as a content advisor, speaker and professional moderator.
Alina Căpitanu, Vice-President of Imago-Mol Cluster on behalf of North East Regional Development Agency, Romania, passionate about developing the regional healthcare innovation ecosystem and increasing the accessibility & quality of the medical services for the benefit of the population. She has 23 years of experience in regional development, project management and actively contributed to Imago-Mol Cluster setting up 14 years ago and further cluster development.
Connecting the regional health ecosystem to the European ones is one of the most important professional goals, North East Region becoming thus member of the Smart Specialisation Platform for Personalised Medicine (S3P4PM), Vanguard Initiative, CEBR, but also of the global network ECHAlliance, aiming to catalyse the smart healthcare transformation.
