Introducing New Members of the HealthChain Community of Practice

The HealthChain Community of Practice (CoP) brings together organizations from different European regions working jointly on healthcare innovation. Its goal is to foster knowledge exchange, mutual learning, and the co-creation of solutions driven by the real needs of healthcare systems. By connecting clusters, researchers, entrepreneurs, and innovators, HealthChain supports the development of sustainable and efficient healthcare services that bring tangible benefits to patients and communities.

In this article, we are delighted to introduce four new members of our Community of Practice:


Health Cluster Portugal

Health Cluster Portugal is a private non-profit association founded in 2008, bringing together more than 200 members, including research institutions, universities, hospitals, civil society organizations, and companies in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical technologies, and healthcare services.
Its mission is to mobilize and connect the Portuguese health ecosystem, turning knowledge into innovation and competitiveness, driving sustainable development, and ensuring better health for all.


OuluHealth Ecosystem

OuluHealth is a dynamic health and life sciences ecosystem from Northern Finland, bringing together healthcare providers, researchers, universities, companies, and citizens to co-create advanced healthcare solutions.
Key strengths include OuluHealth Labs – a unique real-life testing and development environment for healthcare innovations – and the Future Hospital 2030 initiative, transforming Oulu University Hospital into one of the smartest hospitals in the world.


Startup Madeira

Founded in 1997, Startup Madeira is a regional incubation center supporting the development of startup companies and fostering entrepreneurship in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, Portugal. Closely connected to the Regional Government of Madeira, its mission is to strengthen the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Besides local programs, Startup Madeira runs several international initiatives such as Madeira Startup Retreat and Gaming Startup Retreat, with key interests spanning technology, tourism, gaming, the blue economy, sustainability, healthcare, fintech, and social impact.


TERA Tehnopolis d.o.o.

TERA Tehnopolis was established in 2002 as a joint initiative of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, the City of Osijek, and Osijek-Baranja County.
Its mission is to connect science and the economy, providing infrastructural, financial, and advisory support to innovative and technology-driven projects. A milestone for the region is the planned construction of a new Clinical Hospital Center in Osijek, worth €715 million, which will significantly improve healthcare in Eastern Croatia.
